PASTOR'S CORNER

“Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in
Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem. And he did what was right in
the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.”
2CHRON.26:3-4
Doing what is right in the sight of the Lord not only attract reward but also attract the
grace of God. It is true that the grace of God is unmerited. However, it does not show
up in the life of everyone. Secondly, even when some people enjoy the same grace of
God it may not operate in their lives to the same level. Thirdly, there are people in the
scripture that enjoyed the grace of God for a period of time and then lost it. We can
therefore conclude that though the grace of God is unmerited and available to everyone
there are things that attract it to some people bypassing others. There are things that
can increase the level of the grace of God operating in a person and there are things
that can lead to a person losing the grace he enjoyed previously.
Faith pleases God who is the giver or the source of all grace. “But without faith it
is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Heb.11:6. We gain access
to the grace of God through faith. “through whom also we have access by faith into this
grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Rom.5:2. In other
words, faith is the key that unlocks the door to the grace of God. Faith comes from the
hearing of and meditation in the word of God. Meditation in the word of God will bring
revelational knowledge of the will of God. Faith begins when the will of God is known
not in the head but in the heart because Bible faith is of the heart. It is therefore, true
that a man that will exercise faith must be one that loves and respects the word of God.
Such a man will draw the eyes and attention of the God of all grace.
“This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where
is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand
made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the LORD. “These are the
ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble
at my word.” Isaiah 66:1-2 NIV.
